We've tried all the nut butters (including the awesome ones you see on Instagram and Facebook from the US) and Munch won out on taste, unique flavours, and easy to pronounce ingredients! Behind the Company
Munch Life is described as “Food from the Earth, from people of the Earth.” Courtney and Scott initially created Munch Life to provide a better nut butter option for their family. The pair were on a journey to improve what fuels their bodies and especially after their son, Dax, was born, they became even more aware of what was in their food, what they should be avoiding, and what they should be gravitating to instead.
Munch’s success is in no small part due to the strong personal values of the founders. Courtney is passionate about food, health, fitness, and family. While Scott’s background is in welding, he is happiest with his hands in the earth and planting. They live in Abbotsford and you can often find Munch at your local farmers’ market.
Courtney and Scott welcomed a new addition to their now family of 4 in the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Just a few weeks away from having a baby, they reached out to their community offering care packages for single parents and families who are hurting. This is how we got to know the heart and soul of Munch!
What is it?
This family-run business from Abbotsford, BC has since expanded but remains focused on healthy Nut Butters, simplicity, and strong values!
Munch Life Nut Butters come in 3 unique flavours:
- Macadamia Nut Butter - No sugar added, just macadamia nuts and salt.
- Chocolate Almond Butter - If you love almonds and chocolate (cacao), well, those are the first 2 ingredients and come through in a spoonful.
- Vanilla Latte Almond Butter - If you’re a coffee lover like me, you’ll love the taste of this butter. Roasted coffee beans come through and add a crunch with every bite.
Each Nut Butter has a shelf life of 6-8 months, which can be extended by refrigerating it, though refrigeration isn’t necessary!
With Munch Life, it is refreshing to know exactly what you’re buying. You get exactly what you pay for, like when you buy the Macadamia Nut Butter, you are buying 99% Macadamia Nuts and 1% Alaea Hawaiian Sea Salt.
These Nut Butters also use uncomplicated and organic ingredients, like the Vanilla Latte Almond Butter with organic sugar and chia seeds! This ethical sourcing of ingredients isn’t just to put our conscience at ease, they’re also way more nutritious! The Chocolate Almond Butter is made with Raw Cacao which incredibly has 40x the antioxidants of blueberries and more calcium than cow’s milk!
Environmentally and Planet Conscious
All of the nuts and seeds sourced for Munch Life Nut Butters are fair trade, adding to the deliciousness.
Munch uses glass jar packaging instead of plastic -- better taste and preservation for the butters, and it gives the ability for our Customer Friends to reduce, reuse and recycle.
Check those labels -- Munch uses stone paper material for labeling! Stone paper material is a byproduct of manufacturing other products (this is defined as pre-consumer waste), meaning no trees, water, or chemicals were used to produce it! Munch labels are 80% stone paper material and as a result, Munch Life has a whopping 67% smaller carbon footprint than companies using paper labels!
